About Wisconsin Water & Soil Sampling [WWSS]
Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WWSS provides environmental and geological field services of the highest quality. WWSS was founded in 2012 as Baake Field Services LLC but began doing business as WWSS in August 2015. WWSS specializes in environmental sampling (namely soil and groundwater sampling) and hydraulic soil probing / direct push drilling.
WWSS' service area is centered on the Milwaukee metropolitan area and southeastern Wisconsin, but includes the entire state of Wisconsin, and even northern Illinois. Both WWSS' office and garage space are located in far northeastern Milwaukee, near the Milwaukee / Glendale border, in the 53209 zip code.
About the Members of WWSS
Mr. Baake (pronounced "Bah-key"; rhymes with hockey) earned undergraduate degrees in Environmental Geography and Geology/Geoscience. Since graduation he has gained nearly a decade of experience working for three full-service environmental consulting firms by performing a wide array of field tasks (mirroring the services listed on this website). In addition to field activities, he has also performed project management, work plan preparation, and reporting, as well as the managing of field supplies, equipment, and vehicles. Mr. Baake has worked throughout Wisconsin and northern Illinois, with occasional projects extending into Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, and Nebraska; as well as one year in Southern California. Project sites have involved a vast spectrum of active and inactive facilities including, but not limited to, dry cleaners, gas stations, correctional institutions, schools, manufacturing facilities, vacant land, electrical substations, and over one dozen different landfills. Mr. Harvey has over one dozen years of experience performing drilling, direct push soil probing, and subsurface investigations in and around Wisconsin for two different probe service providers. He possesses 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and maintains the annual 8-Hour refresher. Mr. Harvey has worked on essentially every type of active and inactive facility and job-site imaginable; and has vast knowledge of Geoprobe® equipment and techniques, coupled with a do whatever it takes mentality to complete jobs correctly, efficiently, and promptly.
